Cell signals use different kinds of hardware
Cannabis and topical research can mention receptors and channels in the same paragraph. They are not all the same structure. CB1 and CB2 belong to a receptor family that sends signals through proteins inside cells. TRP channels, including the cold-sensing TRPM8 channel, provide pathways for charged particles to move across a cell membrane.
Why the names belong in the explanation
That difference helps explain why a menthol discussion and a cannabinoid discussion may focus on different targets. Biology is not a one-ingredient, one-switch chart, however. Compounds can be studied at more than one target, and results depend on the experimental setting. This short comparison is a way to understand the vocabulary, not a complete map of every ingredient in Cannabolix.
Keep a mechanism separate from a promise
When an article mentions a receptor, ask which one and what the experiment measured. Naming a target does not demonstrate a sports benefit from a finished gel. Nor does it establish an application amount. The best ingredient education makes the question more precise: what kind of signal was studied, in which system, and with which compound? A more detailed name should lead to a better explanation, not simply a bigger promise on a product page.
