Near the finish is a very large address
Your supporters watched you cross the line. Now everyone is somewhere near the finish, sending messages that say exactly that. Choose a meeting point before the event. Use an official reunion area when provided, or a clear landmark outside restricted zones that everyone can find on the event map.
Allow for the exit route
Runners may need to follow a marked route through the finish area before they can meet supporters. Check the organizer's instructions and do not plan a shortcut across barriers. A point that looks close on a map may require a longer walk. Build that into the plan rather than treating a delayed arrival as a surprise.
Give the plan a backup
Agree what to do if phone reception is poor or someone reaches the spot first. Save the meeting point and a contact number where you can access them. Tell the group who has any bag, jacket, or transport details you will need after leaving the finish area.
Keep the celebration out of the flow
Once reunited, move to a suitable space before taking photos or sorting bags. Leave exits and walkways clear for other finishers. A specific meeting plan is a small kindness to everyone involved, including the person who otherwise spends the afternoon describing the nearest tree over the phone.
