Your breathing gets a vote
A pace number does not describe everyone the same way. The talk test uses your ability to speak as a simple clue about effort. CDC guidance describes moderate activity as a level where you can talk but not sing. With vigorous activity, you may manage only a few words before pausing for breath.
Use an ordinary sentence
You do not need a speech or a favorite chorus. During a suitable activity, notice whether a normal sentence feels easy to finish. Use that observation alongside the purpose of the session and any guidance you have been given. The point is to notice effort, not to turn every walk into a contest over who can talk longer.
