Your Training Plan Has Rest Periods for a Reason

Read the whole set

A written workout can include an exercise, reps, sets, and a rest period. It is easy to notice the first three and improvise the fourth. If your coach has included a break, treat it as part of the instruction rather than empty time to fill with another exercise.

Let a timer handle the counting

Set the rest time from your program instead of guessing while chatting or scrolling. The timer is a memory aid, not an order to start regardless of how you feel. Ask your coach how to adjust the plan if you need more time.

Keep comparisons fair

If you change the breaks, note that you changed the workout conditions. There is no single rest time prescribed here for every exercise or person. The practical goal is to follow the session you were given and ask about changes rather than making them by accident.
