Look before the attempt
In a supervised climbing session, take a moment to identify the route and the holds you expect to use. Ask the instructor what to notice if the markings or intended sequence are unclear. This does not replace safety checks or instruction.
Name the uncertain move
Pick the part you do not understand and ask about that move from the ground. A specific question is more useful than a vague plan to figure everything out halfway up. Keep technical and safety decisions with the qualified staff teaching you.
Compare the plan with the attempt
Afterward, talk through where the route differed from your expectation. Did you miss a marked foothold or misunderstand the sequence? That gives the next coached attempt a clear learning point rather than making every try a repeat of the same guess.
